This is a link to my fic offering for the Help Japan auction.

For $10, you can squeeze me for a (minimum) 3000 word fic in either the Avatar: The Last Airbender or Neon Genesis Evangelion fandoms. Or, alternatively, a 3000 word fusion/crossover fic of both fandoms. Y'know what that means? The world might just finally have that Asuka/Mai femslash that it has been sadly lacking.

August is Avatar Shipping Month, and I've decided to throw a few drabbles into the ring. I'm not going to do all 31 ships, but I'm going to give a go to the following ones:

I'll be posting the completed fics to my ff.net account under my drabble collection, The Fun and Perky Warrior's Wolf Tail.

 I probably won't have it out by the end of May, but it will be done shortly thereafter. I may add one final scene to the end of it, just to get some exposition out of the way at the start of Chapter 3. The third chapter is coming along nicely, btw. I got 1100 words done on it last night. I may add a 6th chapter onto FMB simply because Chapter 2 didn't cover as much ground as I expected. 

I got the Avatar art book in the mail the other day and it's pretty cool. The development of the series' basic concepts and character designs is neat, and there are tons of little notes sprinkled throughout the book that make my inner fanfic author squee. For instance, there's this brief note about how the Kyoshi Warriors were imagined as helping to keep order on their island from visiting sailors who might cause trouble. Which means Suki's formative years? She spent them breaking up bar fights on the docks. That's awesome. I'm totally working that into one of my stories.

Total # of pages spent on The Great Divide: 1
Total # of pages spent on Jet: a bajillion (you'd think it was a spin-off series!)

And male!adult!Toph's original character design? Super boring.

* The first chapter of Full Metal Bitch went live this past weekend. Reviews have been very positive, though I'm a little mystified at how some reviewers have talked about FMB's Toph being a deconstruction of her status as a memetic badass in AtLA fandom. I didn't intend it that way and now I'm a little anxious about how the rest of the story will be received.

* On that note, Chapter 2 of FMB has hit the 2,000 word mark. It's all pretty heavily fragmented -- combining The Chase and Bitter Work into one 'episode' is a son of a bitch. I'll be stepping away from the project for a few days so I can some perspective.

* Been doing more outlining on my Big Bang genderswap fic. Katara keeps Haru, but Sonna gets Jet. (By the way, there is a serious dearth of eligable male characters in AtLA if you change Sokka into a girl.)

* I've been completely stalled out on Chapter 9-C of FFO at about 90% completion. I know how it has to end but it's just not coming to me. If this keeps up, I'll probably have to push back the initial posting date into May. I didn't figure on FMB and writer's block derailing my production schedule for FFO.

* I'm writing for this thing. If you join it, I might even end up writing you p0rn!

Or, the fine line between inspiration and theft.

This was a somewhat stream-of-consciousness fic inspired by QuGoneJinn's amazing "Your Fixed Point" Iron Man genderswap fic. The only problem was that, as I was writing this girl!Sokka fic, I realized I was less inspired by "Your Fixed Point" and instead was just plain stealing its voice. So I killed my fic.

Title: Alike in Heart
Official Summary: "I am a warrior. But I'm a girl, too."
The Plot Bunny: Basically, how would Sokka be if he had been born a girl? And what would girl!Sokka's relationship with Suki be?

So there's been a long, interesting spitballing session at the Avatar Spirit forum about this AtLA AU project. The basic premise is a little involved but the end result is that, by the time Aang wakes up a hundred years after Sozin's Comet, the world has balkanized into multiple factions for a true world war.
