Hmmm..."Tom Wolfe's 'The Last Airbenders'"?

I admit, inspired entirely by that Soyuz 1 article. Though I suppose a *strictly* post-steampunk/dieselpunk magitek story about an early space race would just be "The Right Airbending." Though, gads, the ACTUAL titles of the show really lend themselves way too well to that kind of setting even if one played it dead straight! ("Legend of the Airbenders"! [Cue Bill Conti theme music]) B)

It...it also occurs to me that this is starting to sound a bit like "The Wings of Honnêamise" (which it's been WAY too long since I've actually watched) with magic; and that the phrase "Steely Eyed Huojian Man" would HAVE to be used at least once. ;D
