Order of the Lotus fic exchange project

(This was a sticky post, because cluttering up this livejournal with daily word count goals/failures has become a little annoying. I'll remove it at the end of the month.)
So I'm participating in the Order of the Lotus fanfic exchange and my fic, which must be at least a thousand words, is due at the end June. I've had several weeks to get this done but I've been distracted with other, more interesting projects without deadlines. Like finishing Chapter 2 of FMB or tooling around with the reworking of Chapter 9 of FFO. But now that FMB is taken care of for the time being, and FFO is once again on the back burner, it's time to use the stress of deadline to write some fanfic!
I can't actually share the name or plot details of this one-shot fic, as it's meant to initially be an anonymous gift exchange, but it is a shipping fic. I've never actually done pure shipping before -- I'm more a story-plot writer than a character-plot writer -- so this will be an enjoyable challenge.
For those who are interested, I'll be listing my word count goals below the lj cut. I'll be mixing and matching, so there might be daily totally and hourly totals and so on... it's basically a way for me to semi-publicly shame myself into staying on task and not working on other fanfic projects. My ultimate goal is to have the first draft finished by June 24th so that I can spend the last few days of the month editing the fic.
June 20 :: Goal is 2,000 words
Zero Words -- failure day.
June 21 :: Goal is 2,000 words
2,000 word goal met. Two scenes completed.
June 22 :: Goal is 2,000 words
1,000 words written. One scene completed.
June 23 :: Goal is 2,000 words
300 words written. One scene started. -- Mediocre day.
June 24 :: Goal is 2,000 words
1,500 words written. Two scenes completed.
So yeah... the first draft totally isn't done. I'll definitely continue this project as a standalone fic, but it's not going to ready in time for the exchange's deadline. Time to think of a Plan B.
