When I first started reading I figured you were just rehashing Evangelion Retake, and then when you deviated too far from the story of Retake that you didn't know where to focus the story and your writing started to spiral away from the main characters and more on the side characters. I'm glad to hear that you will re-focus the story back onto the main characters by adding a new co-main charater. Writing a few characters is hard enough, please don't make it harder on yourself.
