Yes, in FFO Kataang would be spiritual masturbation. There's actually a deleted scene (deleted because it sucked and was nonsensical) where Aang off-handedly mentions that all the hundreds of past Avatars get together in the Spirit World every seventy-five years or so for a three week orgy. But Aang really isn't into that sort of thing, so he spends the time playing Pai Sho with Roku.
