Reflections on Problem Solving

As I'm getting into the final two chapters of FFO, I've come to realize that each of the central character solves problems in a different way.
Katara: Envisions the world the way "it's supposed to be" (i.e. the way she thinks it should be) and then plows forwards to make that vision a reality no matter what stands in her way.
Sokka: Good at abstract planning. Excellent at acting on spur of the moment inspiration. Thinks in algebra, not arithmetic.
*Suki: Terrible at abstract planning. Always thinks things through. Deals with practical problem solving. Thinks in arithmetic, not algebra.
Zuko: Can overcome any problem... as long as it's in a straight line. A little guile, but never thinks things through.
Toph: Hits the problem until it cries for its mommy.
Iroh: Envisions the world the way "it's supposed to be" (i.e. the way he hopes it can be) and then moves forward with cool determination.
* The stuff in Suki's entry in more my personal fanon than anything. Since she's a flat character in canon, I had to expand Suki for use in FFO from what little we see on TV. Suki had to fill certain roles in the Team Avatar group dynamic with Aang being dead in-story. Fun Fact: Suki will be one of two minor character promoted to become full-time members of Team Avatar in FFO. The other won't appear until Book 2.
