Since we didn't see much of her pre-capture, I just went with Hama being a (slightly) more militant Katara. I always felt canon Hama was basically Katara's Shadow, moreso than Azula. Hama's the person Katara would become if her life turned out a little worse. If something bad had happened to Aang and/or Sokka, depriving her of emotional grounding, Katara would probably develop into a Hama-like figure. Actually, Evil Katara would be *worse* than Hama was, since Katara was portrayed as being a more powerful waterbender than Hama.
There won't be an continuations of this one-shot, but I do have a few more one-shots coming down the pipeline, as well as my mega epic, "Facing Fearful Odds". FFO: Book 1 is 70% done and will be popping in about two months. It'll be updating every Wednesday for roughly six months, then there'll be a short hiatus before Book 2 begins. Will Book 1 is posting, I'll be finishing off the last ten chapters of "Taking Sights".
